Animal Tracking and Habitat
Grade 1 to Grade 8
Full Day
How do animals walk, hop, trot or gallop? Search the forest floor for clues to visiting foxes, rabbit, pheasants, and more. Look for dens, burrows, and nests. Play a stalking game and participate in sensory activities.

Celebrate Winter January to March
Half Day or Full Day
Don't let the chilly winter weather keep you indoors. We've got snowshoeing, crazy carpets, interactive games, barn animals, crafts, science experiments and nature walk options plus hot chocolate to warm you up! Great option for winter elective days.

Creepy, Crawly Critters
Grade 1 to Grade 4
Full Day
Study some fascinating small creatures. Insects may be small, but their impact on nature is enormous. Meet an insect, find out how they get around, discuss camouflage, habitat and food.

Farm
Pre-school Half Day
JK to Grade 8 Full Day
Interact with barn and field animals, poultry and rabbits. Go on a hayride. Discuss animal parts and functions, adapting to seasonal changes and the roles of on a farm.

Spring Garden
Pre-school to Grade 4
Half Day
Discuss preparing the soil and plant indoors for later transplanting, plant outdoors in Green Acres gardens or in individual pots for the students to take back to the classroom.

Orienteering
Grade 1 to Grade 3 - Half Day
Grade 4 to Grade 8 - Full Day
Learn to solve navigational problems and have lots of fun. Use of maps, symbols, (compass for older grades), and more as navigational tools will be discussed.Grade appropriate tools and concepts.

Pond and Stream
Grade 1 to Grade 8
Full Day
Scoop up a frog, catch a minnow, or discover a crayfish hiding under a rock. Examine surface dwellers, bottom dwellers and the tracks of pond or stream visitors. Talk about flow rate and depth, requirements for a healthy pond or stream system and compare them.

Pumpkins
Pre-school to Grade 4
Half Day
Roast pumpkin seeds, visit a harvest display to learn how pumpkins grow, make a craft, enjoy a hayride and participate in a scavenger hunt during the month of October. Each student takes home a pumpkin.

Pioneer Life
Grade 1 to Grade 6
Full Day
Come and compare and contrast the lives of pioneer and present-day children, buildings in a pioneer settlement with those of present day and tools used by the pioneers to today's tools during a walkabout of the property. Investigate pioneer diet and compare it to that of present-day people with a hands on biscuit and butter making programme and compare past and present techniques of processing products with our candle making unit.
